bamboo charcoal inserts

Has anyone tried these? They are 3 lys microfiber topped with 2 lys bamboo charcoal. I was wandering how trim and absorbent they are and if they are very durable. Is bamboo charcoal like a stay dry fabric against the skin? Does poo stick to bamboo charcoal? These same inserts are sold on ebay too.

Re: bamboo charcoal inserts

It says it works well over 50 washes. Does that mean they need replaced every 4 months? The ones on ebay are super cheap so maybe that wouldn't be soo bad...just an inconvenience.

Re: bamboo charcoal inserts

I love love love my charcoal bamboo inserts. They're antibacterial and super absorbent. They're also safe to put against tiny tushie skin so I can use them with my gdiapers. They're also about average size for an insert. Hope that helps.

Re: bamboo charcoal inserts

This question was asked recently on another site and a well known diaper fabric retailer replied with this:
"I've had offers from Chinese companies wanting to sell me this fabric, and that's where I'm seeing it - in inserts and diapers that are made in China. From what I can tell, it has micro particles of charcoal embedded in the fibers, and these gradually wash out. I'm not yet convinced there is any real benefit to this fabric, especially for diapers where there is so much washing. Also, I worry when we start talking about micro particles as to whether the particles would or could become airborne and be breathed in or if they could affect the skin of a baby. I would need to learn a lot more about this fabric before I was comfortable with it. "

Re: bamboo charcoal inserts

Yeah, something about charcoal in the name has me not interested at all in trying.
Also, like PP posted, you don't see any of the American, Canadian, European brands using it. I'm thinking you should not bother with it.
I would be worried about my baby's skin absorbing some of these microparticles of charcoal.
