getting the smell out
I am new to CDing and just recently purchased a couple of used diapers on here. They look like they are in great condition, but I noticed a bit of an odor when I received them. I have washed them a few times, but the odor is still there. It is kinda of a lemony urine smell. Is this urine? How do I get the odor out? (They are Fuzzibunz pocket diapers)
Thanks! |

Re: getting the smell out
I use a small amount of bleach here and there...but not too often! about 1/8-1/4c.

Re: getting the smell out
Ick! Same thing happened to me with a recent purchase. I washed in Tide and then a hot wash with bleach with lots of hot rinses afterwards until all bubbles were gone. They don't stink anymore.

Re: getting the smell out
Just strip them. Probably leftover buildup from the previous user.

Re: getting the smell out
I washed with All Free and Clear. I did three hot water washes already. I will have to try a little bleach. Thanks!

Re: getting the smell out
I just got a diaper off a FSOT with a faint hint of smell today. Actually I didn't smell it until after I washed it once, then dried it partially. It took some deep sniffing to detect it, but I'm anal like that.
Anyhoo, I washed it again with a bit of bleach, a bit of borax, a bit of washing soda, a bunch of baking soda and some fels naptha - the thing smells *divine* now. )

Re: getting the smell out
Bleach definitely. I would personally do that anyway w used dipes (if they're prefolds I just boil them) in case there's any bacteria/yeast in them.
