Bleach in wash

Is there anyone that uses bleach in every wash? Just a small amount...
Or would you save this for the "once in a while" disinfectent?

Re: Bleach in wash

Since Tide changed, I use 2-3 caps full every time I wash which is usually every other day. I used to use it just once a month.

We never use actual bleach, but use an oxygen bleach product in every wash

Re: Bleach in wash

That is my problem too...The hard water does not "like" other options...

Re: Bleach in wash

I don't use it *every* time but I use it quite often. I use Sun detergent and most of the time don't have a problem. I only need bleach if I go more days than usual between washes due to my work schedule or something.

I was using 1/4cup in every wash and things were going great. My diapers have never been softer and so clean. All the rashes were gone and no stink at all! We have hard well water and now the cold water has been coming out slow so I've been using mostly hot & we are having issues with the bleach. I think the bleach isn't rinsing as well and now my boy is getting rashy but more like a red bum All over I'm rinsing 3&4 times . Also, I've noticed my elastic on my grovia shell and 1 flip is starting to go . Could be the hotter water though?? So now I'm trying to cut back from every wash but it's so hard because they come so clean. All in all, I would just be cautious with bleach- I don't really know if it's causing my covers to wear out easier but I never had an issue until now.

Re: Bleach in wash

Will Bleach ruin PUL? I have wanted to use bleach to really get my dipes clean but am petrified that they will ruin the PUL and i will be left diaperless.

I hope it doesn't ruin mine because it looks like I'm going to have to use it just about every wash. I might get away with every other wash. If I use a cap fulin the wash it get rid of the ammonia for me.
