9 months. We struggle to prevent them by providing choices, but he still has some everyday at 11 months. It just frustrates the life out of him that he is so mobile but that he still has boundaries enforced (like don't touch the fan, don't play with cords and outlet covers and outlets- serious stuff- not things that I can put away or hide for awhile).

9-11 months old when the Tantrums started to hit. Yes, and "tantrums" gets a CAPITAL "T". Seemed to come right along with walking. He wanted to walk somewhere else, he couldn't go there, oh no.... tantrum.

Ah, well I voted then I read. My kids have never done this. They know my expectations and behavior like this is simply not allowed.

Interesting. I'm the only one who voted "between 2 and 2.5". But they're always short lived. No 'throwing himself on the floor kicking and screaming' type tantrums. My DS can get pretty upset under the right (or should I say, wrong) circumstances, but overall, he's a pretty mellow little dude.

Mine didn't at only 8 months.

And mine all had different "tantrums." DS1 dropped to his knees (once he was able to walk) and sat there and cried loudly. DD would fall straight over like a tree that had been cut down-THUNK! Then she would wail like a siren into the carpet. DS2 would stand on his head and cry. (think toddler awkwardly doing down dog)

According to the OP's definition, mine have never had a tantrum. I assure you, they have. They just don't do it the "classic" way. (Cause they're my nutty kids!)

Re: At what age did your LO start having tantrums?

I see the worst ones with my kids and the daycare kids beginning at 9 months and getting better around 18 months. Whenever they start walking, they do throw themselves on the floor or sit down hard and hang their head and wail. It is different for different kids. I think the tantrums are eventually traded for whining and bickering.....at least among my group.
