Re: Need Advice!
My thoughts are if the nipple shield won't work, then pump pump pump. Everytime you are a slave to that pump, you are giving your daughter great nutrition!

Try using nipple shells. You wear them to draw your nipples out not during nursing. Whatever you do do not use any artificial nipples like bottles or pacis until bf is established. Good luck!

Re: Need Advice!
I have heard good things about shells for flat nipples. I have also heard that you can pump for a few minutes before nursing to bring them out. And just recently, my sister used a product called Lansinoh Latch Assist and it helped her a lot with flat nipples.

Re: Need Advice!
Ah. Great thoughts, thank you ladies!! I have such deep rooted anxiety when I think about trying to nurse again (it was pretty traumatizing for all involved last time) But I really want to do it, so I'm trying to find anything I can to ease my fears

Re: Need Advice!
I had the same trouble with my first two. I used a nipple sheild with my last one, and I have been breastfeeding for 8 months! I was able to go without it after about 3 months or so. It is a bit of a pain to use and get the hang of, but it works, and I wouldn't be nursing without it! GL!
