Smelly poop?

DS is EBF at 3 months. 2 weeks ago he had blood in his stool and I started eliminating dairy from my diet. Also that same day his poop started to get really smelly. Is this normal as they age, is it related to the sensitivity, or is it a diaper wash issue. His poop has been dark or neon green since the bloody stool incident and very watery, but not very seedy. This was an abrupt change from the mustard yellow the weeks before.

My guess is it's all related and something in your diet, it doesnt really change in smell because they are older, it's more about what you or they are eating (ie when they start on solids at 6mos+).

I have to agree. DD is 3mos and although we have greenish poops sometimes, the smell is usually the same. I hope the elimination diet helps!

My LO had the same thing between 2-3 months. I realized he was getting a lot of foremilk. I started some block feedings and trying to make sure he emptied the first breast first and would go back to that breast at the next feeding. It still took a week or more to level back our but he went back to the usual non smelly yello

Oops! Hit send too soon! He went back to normal soon after. I didn't do any elimination diet at all.

We had this around the same time- seemed to be gluten and dairy sensitivity.
