Crockpot recipies?

OK ladies I love my crockpot as I am sure you all do too. Right now I mostly use it for roasts or making refried beans. Pretty simple stuff. I was wondering if we could pool together some of everyones favortie easy recipies. I'd love more variety.

So for my roasts I don even thaw the meat I just through it in on high around mid-day from the freezer, season howver I am feeling ad a bit of water or broth and cook on high about an hour before its done I may toss in some potatoes. Ive done beef and pork

Refried beans, Just boil some pintos for a bit and then through in the crockpot with onions and seasonings until mushy, smash how much you prefer and finish seasoning

I like doing shredded bbq in the crock. Do the meat (pork or beef) on low all day and then shred. Then I add my bbq sauce and it's soooo good. Using a little cumin and liquid smoke makes it taste grillish.

Re: Crockpot recipies?

thanks for the info, i JUST bought my first crock pot last weekend, i have made beans in it, they came out PERFECT!
i add
tomatos-cut into small cubes
cilantro-pull a bunch off the stems
onion-white onion
just cut and added about 1/3 cup
bacon- i used half the package
1 tbsn salt or less depending on your own taste, you can always add more later
and a 1 lb bag of pinto beans-washed/rinsed
add water to cover the beans and go about 1 1/2 inches above them in the crock, be sure to check on them after an hour or 2 and make sure the water stays above the beans
cook this on high for a couple of hours, its sooo GOOD and a great mexican side dish

Re: Crockpot recipies?

Just a couple:

Easy Cabbage Roll Casserole
(can be prepared in slow cooker and stored in fridge for up to 12 hours then place stoneware on slow cooker and cook as directed)

2 lb lean ground beef
2 medium onions chopped
1 clove of garlic minced
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
6-8 sliced cooked crisp and crumbled bacon
2 eggs (beaten)

1 large can tomato juice
1 cup water
½ cup minute rice

1 can tomato soup
1/3 cup water

4 cups shredded cabbage
1 jar of sauerkraut

In a large non-stick skillet combine first 7 ingredients. Drain off fat and return to heat. Add tomato juice and water in with the meat. Add the rice and mix.

Into the slow cooker add half of the meat mixture, then half of the cabbage and sauerkraut. Top with the remaining meat mixture and then the rest of the cabbage and sauerkraut.

In a bowl combine the remaining tomato soup with the 1/3 cup water. Pour into the slow cooker over everything. Cover and cook on Low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.

Bacon cheeseburger bake

1(4.9oz.) pkg. hungry jack cheddar and bacon potatoes
2tbls. Butter
2 cups boiling water
2/3 cup milk
1lb. ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
3 tbls. Ketchup
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 medium tomato sliced
4oz. shredded cheddar cheese (1cup)

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Combine potato slices, sauce mix and butter to boiling water and add to ungreased 2quart baking dish. Stir in milk bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook ground beef and onion in large skillet until cooked through and onion is tender. Stir in ketchup and pepper. Keep warm.

Remove baking dish from oven; stir potatoes gently. Spoon meat mixture over potatoes. Top with with tomato slices and sprinkle with cheese.

Return to oven bake and additional 10 to 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender

Sloppy Joe Turnovers:

1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion (or onion powder)
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup sour cream (lite)
1/2 t salt
1/4 t garlic powder
10-oz can Flaky Biscuits (10 biscuits)

Preheat oven to 375º.

Brown the ground beef and onion, drain. Add the ketchup, sour cream, salt and garlic powder, stir to combine.

Roll out dough to 4” round. Place 1/4 cup (or so) meat mixture in center and fold over top. Seal edges firmly with fork. Bake 15 minutes.

* You could eliminate the sour cream and use cream cheese or even shredded cheddar (or your favorite) cheese.

Re: Crockpot recipies?

This is a current fave:

3-4 chicken breasts
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
1 cup water
1 beef bullion cube

Put all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low 4-5 hours. Shred chicken and serve mixture over cooked white rice. Yum!
