Re: I'm scared to try solids.

If you have the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, there is a great section in there on BLW and starting solids
With DD I went the way of pureed/mashed, because I was too afraid to give her chunks. (she did feed herself with her spoon the first time though) This time I think I will just see what baby grabs and feeds him/herself. I was extremely cautious last time, and I likely will be again because DD had sensitivities to some things early, and I took them out of her diet for a few months before reintroing them with no issues. I have food sensitivities myself (not true allergies, but I still can't eat things), so it is a concern for me.

If your DS is allergic, and this baby has shown signs of sensitivity, avoid those types of foods until after 12 months, and watch very carefully when you do intro something in that category.

If there are any typos or grammatical errors I was probably NAK, apologies in advance!

My Mood:
I never pureed anything. We started at 6 months with avocado, squash, banana, pear, and applesauce...mashed with a fork. It's amazing to me, looking back, what he was able to eat with no teeth. He started getting two on the bottom at 9.5 months and didn't get any more until he was almost 15 months.
