Leaking milk while sleeping? Do milk savers work while laying down?

Re: Saving leaking milk

You want to catch what leaks out overnight, let it sit there warm the rest of the night, and then put it in the fridge and use it later

It seems like by the time you woke up and got it to a fridge it wouldn't be very good anymore. I thought the milk savers were mostly to put on the "other" side while nursing, to catch the letdown. That way you are getting it out and cold shortly after it comes out.

you would have to position the milk saver so the 'top' is towards your elbow and pointing up instead of the top to your face which would be sideways if lying down. i did try this for a while and it was too much of a PITA to continue but i did not have a minifridge in my room and had to walk across my itty bitty house to the kitchen. so it is possible but you can't really stay laying down.

I just let it leak I sleep without a bra or shirt, on top of a nekkie blankie, I cover up with a receiving blanket or flat diaper if i feel chilled on top. I have found this to be much more comfortable than waking up in damp nursing pads or with big wet areas on my bra/tanks/shirts. I used lilypadz sometimes with my first but now I think it's healthier to air out at night.

Yeah, I think it's a lost cause. I feel you though, I leak a lot at night and it just seems like wasted milk.
