2 or more in ft daycare? how much a month?

school has been in session 1 week today. Both girls in full time(m-f 7:3-3:30) in-home daycare is $680 a month. We knew it would be this much, we've had this provider for 3yrs....thats just soooo much money

Oh man. That sounds so cheap to me! We pay $135/week for just my 17-month-old DS, which breaks down to $585 a month. When we have another, it'll be an additional $150/week (since babies are more expensive). And these prices are very cheap. If we used a center, it'd be over $200/week per child!

I'm currently trying to figure out how to work daycare for #2 into our budget, because this very well could be our reality soon. (in the 2ww now!)

Yeah, that is cheap! When DD1 was in Daycare, we paid about $1100/month. Now that DD1 is in school and only has before and after care, and DD2 has aged up to the Pre-K room, we are paying about $550/month.

We will be paying $1000 a month for 2 kids for just 3 days a week! And this is an in home daycare, not a facility. I'm ok with it though since I interviewed a lot of cheaper day cares and you get what you pay for. We trust them and DD loves it there.

have you tried to find a nanny/ in home sitter to watch your kids for a flate rate per day or week? it's worth a shot- many friends (including myself) pay $40-$55 a day for their sitters (for 2 kiddos). It may take a while but it will be worth it. Try craigslist, care.com, sittycity but always do a background check and ask for references from past employers & friends

Since you need 5 days- try to negotiate a weekly rate.

That sounds cheap to me too! I wish I could find good quality daycare for two for that price. IF I had two (I looked into it during my wishful thinking phase a few months ago) I would pay $1000 a month for two, and our current daycare is cheaper than most around. Most of the other daycares would cost $1200-1400 a month for two and I'm not even in a high cost of living area. I think you're getting off pretty cheap for two.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're one of the lower costs of living places I just hate spending that much

If we had two, we'd pay 960 a month, but no matter how much it costs, it's always going to seem like a lot. I try to think of it as how much is my son having a good day without me worth? A lot, right?

In North TX $800 per month for two is a fairly average rate.

We pay $650 for one child full time. Your price sounds great to me!
