Re: 2 or more in ft daycare? how much a month?
Agree with the others... that sounds like a great deal to me. When I looked for daycare a few years ago I was quoted ~$350-$400 per child per WEEK (not month). I went with a nanny because with 2 kids (now 3) it was cheaper to have a nanny. I know I'm in a high COL area but I didn't realize how much higher it was.

Re: 2 or more in ft daycare? how much a month?
We were paying $500/month for ODD which was a really good deal. Then shortly after YDD was born we switched to a new daycare, which cost more... We pay $1300/month for two kids, and they only go three days a week!
I would LOVE to only be paying $680/month for both. I have to agree with a PP though, that no matter how much it costs it is going to seem like a lot. Going from one in daycare to two in daycare was a HUGE adjustment financially.

Re: 2 or more in ft daycare? how much a month?
That sounded like a lot until I reviewed what we would have paid. We had our boys signed up for a daycare in our town...$138/week for the younger, $118/week ($10 off discount for multiple kids) for the oldest, and then $125/week in-home care for our upcoming baby. That's a total of $381/week. Per month would be $1,524. ![]() (We've since decided to have them in a home care setting for only half a day, which will be $12 each/day. We still plan to have our baby go full time, so it will be $245/week or $980/month. Wow. I think I'm going to puke now....) |

We pay $300 per week for 2 kiddos which includes 2 meals and 2 snacks per child per day. I LOVE my daycare so it's worth it.

Re: 2 or more in ft daycare? how much a month?
I pay $740 to our in home care provider for watching my son 730-430 five days a week and transporting my dd to and from 1/2day preschool 5 days a week and then keeping her from 12 until 430. I pay the preschool $160 a month, so a total of $900 a month for 2 in ft care!

Here avg is $100 a week per kid. So for 2 kids it would be $800 a month.

Re: 2 or more in ft daycare? how much a month?
That is pretty reasonable, actually.
For 3 FT in a center where I work, in Omaha, would be almost $500 a week. We live about 40 minutes away in a smaller town, FT is still $300-$400. We are changing to a dc close to home and are doing 3 days/week. It will be $140 a week for all 3 which is in line with other centers here, but we are a low COL area. |

You have it pretty good at that rate... I thought ours was good ($40/day for 2 kids) ... works out to $800-$920/month depending on how many weekdays are in the month. (20-23 days)

Wow, I was thinking of maybe looking into daycare to get DS more socialized with other kids (Also to expose him to more germs/immunities), but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford any of that.
Right now I work evenings/nights and my husband works as a teacher. So when he gets home I go to work so someone is always with the baby. |

Re: 2 or more in ft daycare? how much a month?
The boys would be 900/week - so if we only had 2 it would be 600 per week - so yeah, $680 per month sounds great. We have a family member as a nanny, so we are spoiled and pay far less per week than what we would in day care.
As it is, preschool next year will be about $1200 per month for 3 kids/3 mornings a week.
