What's your favorite pregnancy books?

I am wanting to pick up a couple more books.. I really like the kind that it explains how big the baby is each week and what milestones etc.. maybe even pictures with actual size of the baby earlier on.. Can you share your favorite books out there? thanks!

Your Pregnancy Week by Week was pretty good and Babycenter's Complete Guide to Pregnancy was my absolute favorite...a little pricier, but worth it. It has all the info you seem to be looking for though Also Hilarious: The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy is a fun, light read- not at all medical though

Re: What's your favorite pregnancy books?

I have one called "A Child is Born". It's been around for years; my mom had the same book when we were growing up and I loved looking through it then. Now, my 4 year old son will bring the updated version I own to me and ask me to "show him the baby". It's got actual photos taken from inside the womb and they are some of the most awe-inspiring photos I've seen. In early pregnancy, they doctored up electron microscope images. It shows pictures of births, nursing, premie babies. It's not like a "week to week" type thing, but it does cover the whole pregnancy and what to expect.

There is a book based off the movie In the Womb. IT is not very long but the pictures are great.

THe Mayo Clinic's Guide to Pregnancy. Absolute favorite. Gives you week by week progress. It more neutral and less inflammatory than some and very well organized.

Yup! Totally agree! Especially the second one I have read it with all three pregnancies and I swear it gets funnier each time!

Ok this isn't a week by week book, but I highly recommend Ina May's Guide to Childbirth to all of my pregnant friends. Reading this book will give you amazing faith in your body's ability to give birth, and explains in detail what happens during labor.

I second Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and also recommend The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth. Not traditional "pregnancy week by week" books but absolutely priceless to me!!!
