AF question
Okay, so I know that you are all tired of hearing about my AF and PPAF, but I REALLY need some help!!
I am pretty sure my AF returned this past Saturday even though my PPAF never fully stopped. So, this is my problem/question... this AF is REALLY heavy. I am on day 5 and it is still flowing hard and I am passing clots from dime size to plum size... is this normal? I nursed after my previous 3 pregnancies and AF didn't return for months and when it did it was fairly light and each month gradually became more heavy until it was my 'normal'. I have a call into the DR, but they haven't called back. I just don't know if I need to worry so much or if this is normal... Thanks for your help!

Re: AF question
I had a 24 week loss and I had almost the same pattern you did... no real stop of PP bleeding, right into a 6 week "PPAF" that was really heavy and lasted a FULL week. I didn't have much clotting though. They told me to monitor the bleeding and stay at home in case I started feeling faint. It stopped after a week and then I had NO bleeding until Monday - precisely when I was "supposed" to start. So I guess this is my first real AF (pretty sure I ovulated). Sounds like the same for you!

Re: AF question
Thanks Lynn! So was your AF like a faucet.. was it heavy the whole week and then stop? I'm on CD 6 and it is still flowing quite heavily but the clots are more normal sized. Spoke with the nurse, who in turn spoke with my Dr and they aren't concerned unless I start going through a pad an hour or start feeling lightheaded and dizzy. I figure I will give it until Monday and if it is still this heavy I will go in to be checked. I am just ready to move beyond the constant reminder of the loss.

Re: AF question
It was heavier than a normal period and lasted an entire week! Yeah gushing blood (sorry tmi!) My real period that just ended lasted 5 days and wasn't as heavy, I could definitely tell a difference. Fun, fun!!
