Holding food in mouth and not swallowing?

So, I'll start this post by saying we are not doing BLW. My girls were ready to start baby food by four months and have been doing great. They are nearing six months old now and the one has started to hold her food in her mouth instead of swallowing and opening wide for another bite like she used to. Anyone every have a baby do that before?

She will eventually either swallow or spit it out and she's doing it with all flavors, even her favorites. She has already cut two teeth and doesn't seem to be near cutting anymore, so I don't think it's that. She's drinking her bottles just fine like always, so I'm very confused. Any ideas?

Its just a phase and it'll pass. They do lots of funny things just because and just to figure out what will happen if they do, how it feels, etc... I wouldn't stress it.

Mine was a chipmunk cheek food hoarder. He would literally keep food in there for an hour sometimes. It was a phase and he grew out of it eventually, after quite a few hilarious "when did you eat a carrot? Is that from lunchtime??" moments.
