Re: rear facing saved my childs life!

I'm glad you guys are okay. Kudos to you for keeping your LO rear facing, you made a huge difference in how this turned out for him. I wish people would understand what a difference extended rear facing makes.

Re: rear facing saved my childs life!

That's really scary, especially when you show all the pictures. It would have been nice if you said you all were ok first before we had to read all the way through it. A few accidents like yours/reading/seeing them were exactly why we are extended rear facing as long as we can.

Re: rear facing saved my childs life!

Thanks so much everyone! Yall are too sweet!

Update on my unborn baby:
I went to my OB today, they did an ultrasound and the baby seemed to be ok. My dr said that everything checked out ok with the baby, but I wasn't in the clear yet. He said he has seen many times a few weeks after the accident, the mom give birth to a stillborn. Very scarey, I'm so worried. Please, please keep us in your prayers.

ALSO, we have several witnesses from the car wreck. I do not know any of the people but my insurance informed me that we have over 10 witnesses and 2 of them were in a car that said they saw the SUV that hit me speeding, running all over the road, and talking on the cell phone. Which explains why there was no skid marks or braking. The couple in the car said that they were so scared they had to pull off the road!

I'm guessing factory tint isn't a film? I ask because someone or something hit the sliding door window in my Chevy van and it exploded all over the inside of my van. This happened in 2005 and I still find glass we missed. I assume my tint was done at the factory, though and I don't know if that's a film or what.

Re: rear facing saved my childs life!

So glad you are all OK. That is SOME damage to your car :0 Crazy!

Thanks to all the great info that I have recieved here and on another board I belong to, my DD is still RFing as well in a Britax Marathon. She is 23 months and 25 lbs. I was out with friends the other day and someone was talking about car seats and a friend was actually bragging that her son has been FFing for AGES He is 2 months younger than my DD and was switched right at 12 months because "he was too big (25 lbs) to RF safely". It drives me nutso when she says that.

So glad your DS was fine andfor a healthy continued pregnancy! But, seriously? I can't belive people were saying anything to you about him being RF, I mean, he's barely above the legal minimums! WTH is wrong with people?

I'm just seeing this! I am SO glad you guys are all relatively unhurt! It sounds like both your son's seat and your car did their jobs in protecting you!
