Pregnant with a toddler...

... and all I want to do is cry. How do you manage feeling like crap and having a toddler to run around after.

Re: Pregnant with a toddler...

It's hard. Every time I lay down even just to rest my son is all over me asking me to read to him, help him, play with him, and so on. I make a point to give him quality time, but it's never enough. I finally started putting on the TV when I lay down and rest just to get a break. Otherwise, I just go with it. Sea bands help with nausea and if I keep moving I just don't feel how tired I am.

Movie time. But mine are 9, 7, 5, 4, 2.

The 4 and 2 are all over the place, but I also have to school the older four and my husband is going from working at home all the time to working outside the home all the time. It will be interesting.

We just have the one toddler. She's pretty chill, she likes reading and puzzles. We've been dressing up and dancing almost every day and I count that as exercise. I nap with her everyday. I'd be a wreck if we didn't nap.

I make a point to nap when my son does too! Sometimes I don't fall asleep, but just resting is really helpful.

Re: Pregnant with a toddler...

My DS is a wild man, so I have to keep him busy, busy, busy. Otherwise, he's all over me or getting into trouble (like climbing on things or bothering the dog). TV doesn't keep DS's interest for more than a few minutes at a time, and it's been too hot for me, in my current state, to take him outside. I'm not going to lie, it's TOUGH. I can put some water in the bathroom sink and give him some cups and a funnel to play with. That entertains him for at least 30 minutes and usually much longer. Every few days, I'll pull out play doh or paint. I have noticed that if I spend at least 30 minutes on the floor with him in the morning and afternoon, he's more likely to entertain himself for longer periods of time so I can hang out on the couch

I just wanted to say mama! I feel your pain! I'm exactly as pregnant as you are (same days and all!). I have an 18 month old and a 5 year old. the other day I put the baby in the crib with a bunch of toys and put the 5 year old with a movie and took a nap.

When I was preg with #2, I would nap with DD twice a day, lol. Fall asleep at 9pm every night. It was rough, and we moved when I was in my first tri, so I just let everything be a mess.

Now I have an almost-4 and almost-2 yr old. The 23 mo still nurses and naps, so I will lock us in my bedroom with netflix on for the DD. She is an escape artist/mischief maker, so I have to lock the door, but it works. When it's not naptime, both kids love playing with mega blocks, and I can lay on the floor and occasionally help with a castle or whatever to appease their attention.

We also have been going outside a lot. If we're outside, I can't snooze. They can run around like chickens while I read or use my phone or whatever.
