Introducing Solids soon!

My daughter is 5 months in a few days and I am introducing solids to her. I wanted to wait until 6mo, but external factors made me change my plans. I am making my own food and have her first two foods frozen and waiting. I'm a little sad she won't just be on breastmilk and how it signals how much she has grown, but I am excited to open her world to new and hopefully exciting new things. Any tips, suggestions, words of comfort, etc?

She mainly has all the signs of being ready, plus my family keeps sneaking her tastes of foods and keep pressuring me to the point of argument.
