the suds won't go away!

So I just stripped my diapers and used original dawn & I used an extra rinse twice & there were still suds, so I ran a light wash & rinse again and there are still some suds in the rinse cycle! Should I run another rinse or is 4 rinses and a extra wash w/o any detergent enough suds or no suds?

You need NO suds. I took me about 7-8 rinses after the last time I stripped my diapers with Dawn. It kinda stinks to do it, but if you don't get ALL of the soap out before you use them, you may end up worse off than before you stripped, and no one want's that!

Run a little vinegar in a full cycle without any detergent. That way the vinegar gets rinsed completely out. It'll neutralize and kill all the suds.

Re: the suds won't go away!

I just posted about this. Adding dawn did nothing for me , because I already have really soft water and dawn is high sudsing. Do more hot rinses until you have no suds. it will feel wasteful, but once you have no suds, the next time you do diaper wash, you can use a really small amt. of detergent and still have clean dipes.

Thanks for the replies! I'll try another rinse & if that won't get it I'll add the vinegar!

Make sure you are rinsing with cold. It rinses suds better.

Re: the suds won't go away!

dawn causes an obsene amount of suds in our water (though we have quite hard water) I really dislike it for this very reason.

Keep on rinsing mama! One time I added too much Dawn and rinsed for what felt like days. I think that is the last time I stripped with Dawn!
