Read this book and postpone your return of fertility

Hi Mamas,

I just read a great book on how to postpone your return of fertility after childbirth for 14.5 months, on average (but ranging from about 9 - 30+ months!) This doesn't involve any charting, temp taking, mucus checking, etc. You can have as much 'you know what' as you want as frequently as you want, no abstinence, no withdrawal. Totally natural, very effective if done correctly.

The book is 'Breastfeeding and Natural Child Spacing' by Sheila Matgen Kippley.

We made it 14 months and I got my ppaf yesterday. I would have liked it to be away longer. Oh well.

I had 9, 14, then 22 months without af after each kid due to this book! The Kippley's are wonderful people, can't recommend their books enough!

We, unknowingly , followed this, similar to Eco bf'ing, and at 14mo pp still no af. But we are ready to ttc so going to slowly transition to see if it changes anything and of course if DS is ready for the transition.

My DS nurses has always nursed very frequently day and night. I half way got af back at 20 months, I get af every 6-8 weeks for a day, 2 days max.

Yay! I am 9 months postpartum with no signs of AF yet. I was SO excited to find legitimate research showing that breastfeeding actually works to space babies.

Re: Read this book and postpone your return of fertility

Unfortunately, the method did not work for me. My cycle has returned very early both times despite my kids nursing around the clock like crazy and following the other guidelines. I guess we'll see if maybe it works this time around.

Re: Read this book and postpone your return of fertility

Is it basically nurse every 2-3 hours, night nurse, and cosleep, or is there more to it?
