I know how hard it is to break the cluttered fridge habit. But I think it's a huge payoff in terms of making a kitchen looked uncluttered and minimal. IMO, no matter how minimal the rest of your kitchen is, is your fridge is covered in stuff, the whole room is going to feel cluttered.
If you really really need that visual reminder, I would print out a monthly calendar and note the days your bills are due. Keep all of the actual bills by your computer and just check your calendar every morning to see if you have anything due in the following week.

Re: pictures of minimalists homes

I struggle with trying to become more minimalistic while at the same time making my home feel like a creative, warm environment where others feel welcome. I have a long way to go, but here are some pics! They might make some of you feel good about ¥our own homes

View from kitchen into dining room. I have to keep the craft stuff on top of the buffet b/c ds doesn't put it away and it ends up taking over his room. Until he learns how to put it away he has to ask permission.

From the living room into the dining room

The thorn in my side! I can only afford plastic storage (which I do NOT want more of) so I am waiting to troll garage sales and sometimes peruse CL to find a quality piece of storage furniture.

living room

DD barely has a room (She has our tiny breakfast nook!) so her dollhouse goes in the living room, along w/ almost all her other toys. I have books stored in the fireplace b/c it's decorative only and I definitely need to purge some books!

We live in a 1910s bungalow, so tiny kitchen

Here's dd's breakfast nook room! lol

it has a crib, changing table, a few books/toys, a fan (she needs white noise when she sleeps), and a rocking chair. It is TIGHT!!

We are currently saving up for a down payment on a new house and then I can have a sewing room!!!

jemilyon if you think your kitchen is tiny you should see mine. I refer to it as a hallway that I cook in because that is about how big it is

I was wondering! I realize these aren't all minimalist (pretty, though) but my house sooo doesn't look like this! Haha. (Granted, that's because we have mismatched furniture and the like...)
