Prefolds- does it matter where you buy them?

I've noticed there is quite a difference in price depending on where you buy your PF's. I need to pick up some more...
I've looked at Little lions, green mountain's prices are higher, then there is clothdiaper.com...
Are baby's textiles all the same no matter where I bought them?

I currently have infants from clothdiaper.com - they do the jobm but are nothing special
premium UBIPF's from cotton mama- so soft!, but a little narrow?
Thirsties - just the right size, but not as soft as indian....

I would join the co-op here and order from there (they are coming from LL) and have great prices IMO.. and shipping is only from LL to you for this co-op

I think UBIP are always somewhat narrower than UBCP.

I really like the Tiny Birds Organics prefolds. More pricy, but so absorbant and pretty!

*scratchs head* I got thirties and they are super narrow, almost too narrow. And, seem to be shrinking even more. my cottonbabies are huge but, seem to be shrinking down to a good size too. I think there is diffently a difference. Just not sure which to go with...I'm going to try baby textiles and in a pince LL.

depends what you are looking for, softness, cpf, epf, ipf, hemp, size etc.

little lions are great! soft and great C.S. but their infants are slightly smaller than some others i've had but their softness is comparable to the indians i've had but with the durabilty of cpfs
i also really like the fit of some euro pfs from www.integritydiapercompany.com
and right now i have some in between sizes from gmd which are good quality too.
for hemp i think for absorbancy and softness kindheartwomen have the best

Well, I was really looking for a dozen toddlers. The premiums are just a tad too narrow for my chuncka, and I have a serger, so I can trim the length.

I have to put a plug in for Karen at geen mountain diapers. Her rainbow & toddler prefolds are the thickest most absorbant prefolds out there. IMO much nicer than tiny birds, indians, or anything really.

She ships super fast too!

There is a difference!
I have some from Little Lions and even though the shipping was lightening fast(and cheap!), they are not the softest IMO.
I ordered some UIPF from Jillians Drawers and they are the most buttery soft pf we own.
However in FSOT there are some trimmed toddler prefolds available. I keep wanting to get them myself but I dont need anymore really.

Re: Prefolds- does it matter where you buy them?

I only have cpf's so I can't compare cpfs and ipfs. But I have cpfs from 3 different places - little lions, green mountain, and a coop - and after washing them and using them many, many, many times I find them to all be pretty much the same as far as softness and absorbancy. They are all a little different sizes after shrinking and what not but all work the same to me. So personally I say over time no it doesn't matter where you buy them from.
