30 minutes or less recipes???
It seems like I keep making the same things over and over again. I'd love to try some new recipes. I prefer it to be things I can make in 30mins or less, or I can put in a crock pot and let it go.
Here's what I usually make: chicken and rice pasta (spaghetti, zit, lasagna, ravioli) enchiladas mexican chicken pork chops and rice breakfast for dinner pot roast pasta primavera with chicken and veggies italian meat loaf hot dogs in crescent rolls chicken teryaki shake n bake chicken You get the idea. So I'm looking for some new things to try. They need to be kid friendly.....I have two semi picky eaters. Thanks!!

I make a lot of chili & soup in my crockpot! I just use whatever ingredients I have on hand so they're different much of the time
![]() Chili is usually a mix of some or all of these: Ground beef, chicken, turkey, buffalo, venison Steak- cubes or strips or a chuck to shred later Tomatoes-sauce, diced, fresh, paste Lots of veggies tossed in the processor: onions, celery, carrots, lots of colored bell peppers, peas Herbs & spices- chili powder, sea salt, paprika, turmeric, oregano, Italian mix, basil, cloves, cocoa, pepper I don't often put beans but when I do I like chick peas, black beans & kidney beans You could leave anything out or sub anything & it's always good! I boil my chicken bones, pork chop bones, or get soup bones & add veggies & seasonings for soup. Cabbage, celery, carrots, turnip & onions is a favorite

Re: 30 minutes or less recipes???
Don't know if your using all of your pot roast in one meal or not but we usually use left over pot roast to make pulled barb sandwiches. Left over meat loaf for shepherds pie. Here's a no cook thing. Garden Pizza- pita or flat bread, spread with flavored cream cheese (we use onion and chives) topped with fresh spinach leaves, thinly sliced basil leaves, diced whatever you want- we use cucumbers, tomatoes and shredded or matchstick carrots. DH is a huge meat eater and her really likes this. Broc works well on it too but its really easy to overload your crust.
Super quick ham steak with warm pineapple slices, sweet potatoes (microwave usually in under 10 mins then mash and top with cinnamon or whatever else you would normally put on them) and green beans.

Re: 30 minutes or less recipes???
we have been doing quesadillas weekly lately. I have cooked chicken in the freezer and pull it out in the morning then that evening they're really quick to throw together. Kid friendly finger food!

As for soups and chili's, my kids won't touch them. Hubby doesn't really care for them either, so those are out. I like soups, especially in the winter but no one else would eat it. I usually buy a smaller roast, enough to feed us 4 dinner and a left over for dh's lunch. Keep the ideas coming!!

Re: 30 minutes or less recipes???
Oh, and I love this Rachel Ray recipe.
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/r...ipe/index.html Though I never toast the buns and usually cheat with frozen onions and peppers.

Re: 30 minutes or less recipes???
If you are on FB, "LIKE" Cooking Light (magazine). Every day they post a link to a recipe called "Dinner Tonight." As a general rule, they use ingredients you would normally have on hand, can be made in <30 minutes, are healthy, and taste good!
I probably find one new recipe this way every week. I tend to plan a weekly menu/grocery list, so I print out recipes that appeal to me and add them to the following week's menu/grocery list, rather than actually cooking them the day they are posted. |
