Green Line bamboo soakers, $6 each and we use them all the time with my daughter usually changing every 3-4 hours during the day and she can wear just 1 over night for 12 hours with no leaks. They are sewn as a flat which you trifold then fold to fit rise, dry quick, soft and VERY absorbent.

Green Line also has a 10% off coupon code for your entire purchase (10 different codes out right now as GL is having a huge blog giveaway event - started today!!)

Another Thirsties prefold lover here! Abbys Lane also has them for 15% off. We use them on my heavy wetting toddler at night.

I sewed it shut in the shape of a long snake though (three straight stitches through it or two the long way), so they always come out of the dryer "prefolded". I like how its extremely absorbant and size-adjustable. I only need one because it creates 12 or 18 layers of fabric, that is a lot of layers! One can last my DD (15 mo) 3 or 4 hrs. I use it on her overnight with a hemp doubler.

except I didnt sew mine. I use them for every pocket. never leaks

I've never used the Thirsties, but
I flannel burp cloths! I got mine at Babies-r-us. They are Babies-r-us brand and I believe you get 4 for $8.50 maybe $9, but I always buy them when you get one pack half off with the purchase of another pack. I can fold 1 of these into a pocket and it lasts at least 2 hours!

No stink issues with Thirsties, its a hemp jersey/cotton blend. VERY soft too

I just happened to try Pooters hemp doublers first and haven't had to try anything else. They are $3/each and less when you buy more than 3. I got mine for 2.70 plus the owner is really sweet! Really trim and absorbant, and no stinkies with these! http://www.pootersdiapers.com/shop-by-brand/pooters/pooters-one-size-organic-inserts.html

I use flats for everything! The regular cotton ones run about $1.50/each and the hemp flats that are super absorbent are $7.
