Cloth wipes & dying dipes..

So I've decided we're gonna switch to cloth wipes along with our dipes..I can sew & I'd like to make them myself..my question is..what material is best for this? I know some use flannel..but I think it's boring & I need a wipe that's gonna last & get the job done! lol..

Also how big do you recommend them to be?

Next question..

I've recently bought some dingy white dipes(that I couldn't tell were so dingy) & I'd like to dye them..I have some dylon..is that ok to use on a PUL dipe?

Re: Cloth wipes & dying dipes..

I just made some and they are adorable! I used one layer terry and one layer flannel. Mine are 5x7 so they fit in a "travel" case that we use to use with normal wipes. They are very thick and absorbant as well as really good(the terry) at getting poo off bottoms. I used a cute prink(lady bugs and flowers) and a matching color terry(hot pink) and they are super cute! Good luck. I'm sure you will love them. If you get half a yard each material it will come out to about 18 wipes, just a FWI. At least mine did!

I like mine the same length and width as my sposey wipes container. They are also great when made the size of a washcloth, nice to fold over for the container. I have all materials. Honestly, my fav is a soft and fluffy terry on one side and flannel on the other. Mine have lasted 6 yrs, well, most.
