13 month old - nurses at night, not during day?

The title pretty much says it. My 13 month old is eating solids well, but doesn't want to nurse during the day. I guess she's too busy? She nurses at best, one time after her afternoon nap. Which is fine. BUT, she wants to nurse all night. Like, every three hours-ish. So, she'll nurse at 10, 2, 5, 7 (ish). She's been doing this for a while, and we just put her in her crib at night and she's actually sleeping better, but still wakes to nurse, then goes back to sleep. Is it just her habit? Anyone else's do this?

This is happening to my 11month old DD. I'm curious to see what others who have gone through this have to say.

My first did this. I figured she just needed the extra closeness and reassurance after a busy day. My second still nursed about as frequently as a new baby when he was 2yrs old. He had a swallowing problem and just didn't eat a lot of solids.

Thanks! I didn't even think to look there, but that is EXACTLY what she's doing. Good to know it's normal, just different than my first! Always comforting to know you're not alone!

My 7mo does the same thing. We do "isolation booth" nursings (lol) during the day -- basically go into a boring room, rock, listen to white noise, and nurse. It helps her focus a little, and reduces the night nursings. I also give her a sippy of about 3-4 oz of pumped milk right before bed on the days I know she hasn't nursed much; it helps me be sure she has a full "tank" before going to sleep. AND we nurse to sleep on top of that.
