Board book recommendation, 1-2 year old?

Hey mamas,

I have one lonely paperbackswap credit so I'd love a board book recommendation for my 16 month old. Something that will really grab his attention and that he will want to read over and over again.

He really likes bright colored illustrations and prefers books that aren't too wordy and sound nice when being read.'

We love the Eric Carle Polar Bear Polar Bear What do you Hear? book (or any of his like that)...bright colors, nice drawings, rhyming and we make the animal sounds which are a big hit

My son liked Rainbow Sea by Christian Reese Lassen, a colorful book about the ocean.

He also liked 10 Little Lady Bugs or 10 Little Yellow Ducks or 10 Race Cars(the ones that have raised illustrations that count down from 10 to 1).

He also liked the "First Words" series. Those huge books that have real pictures of things in them with the word of what it is underneath.

dinosaur roar, going on a bear hunt, goodnight gorilla, wheres the bear, little blue truck, dear zoo. All of these were FAVORITES!

Dd's current favorites (19 months) are Brown Bear, Polar Bear, Panda Bear, Goodnight Gorilla, and The Very Busy Spider (loves all the animal noises). Good luck picking one! Possibly try the library first so you can see how your lo responds to the book as sometimes a hit with one kid is not interesting to another.

There's a bunch of very simple books by Leslie Patricelli that all the kids at DS's daycare went mad over (DS's faves were 'tubby' and 'binky'). He also really likes brown bear (we have the one with the sliding windows), and Bright Baby books (in particular the first 100 words one). Also the 'that's not my dinosaur/mermaid/tractor/etc touch and feel board books are great.

The Board book version of "Are you my Mother?" you can also find some Dr Seuess books in board book form.

We also had great luck with the Ugly Dolls 123's and the colors and anything touch and feel.
