Re: Board book recommendation, 1-2 year old?

We did pretty much anything Eric Carle or Dr. Suess board books. And if you don't have it- when my dd was that age - Guess How Much I love You was the absolute favorite. We read 2 times every night for 6 months and we still read it ever so often. Its a popular gift book I guess, a friend gave us one because she got 3 as gifts. Everyone we know has this book. And it makes dh laugh every time we read it, his mind is always in the gutter- and the characters are Big Nut Brown Hair and Little Nut Brown Hair. He finds this hilarious makes it difficult for me to read it with out giggling.

I love 'Hop in the Garden' by Julie Fletcher.
My DD loves the chunky tabs and loves loves this book.
If she sees it, she crawls over me and anything else to grab it.

How could I have forgotten this one? This was my son's favorite as an older infant (when he started really becoming interested in books). It's out of rotation right now (it was damaged and I need to fix it). I should really do that today so he can have it back, I had forgotten!

Re: Board book recommendation, 1-2 year old?

I requested some books through paperbackswap. We either had some of the books recommended or they weren't available on PBS right now so I kept typing in the titles mentioned in this thread until I found some available. I will seriously spend hours on there trying to make a decision so this really helped! I just got 2 more credits today from books I had sent to members, so I ordered:

Guess How Much I Love You
Dinosaur Roar
Snuggle Up Sleepy Ones

I'm excited! Thanks so much for the help!

Re: Board book recommendation, 1-2 year old?

My kids all LOVED Goodnight Moon. I was surprised when someone gave us a copy as a baby gift (some pages are black&white, not a whole lot of bright colours) but after reading it to my kids, they all loved it. They had it memorized and we'd take turns reading it to each other.

Re: Board book recommendation, 1-2 year old?

DD loves "Is your mama a llama?" She'll get it and flip the pages and start saying, mama mama mama?

She also likes (well dh and I do at least) "One hungry monster", "the little mouse, the red ripe strawberry and the big hungry bear," "one bear lost."

We also like Sandra Boynton, dd loves "Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs!"
