Seriously? I think he looks like a perfectly healthy kid! I don't know what I would say. My ds was at 25% at 2 months then at 10% at 4 months but the ped wasn't concerned. We'll see in a couple weeks at his 6 month check where he is.

Re: Being told hes under weight and to wean

ignore it. ds was 4.8lbs at birth(dropped to 4lbs) and only gained 1 lb a month, consistently (never slowed down due to walking and such) he is 18lbs at 16 months and since he is keeping "his curve" the ped is not concerned. but i did switch peds 4x

He is doing all those things and more!

My oldest like I said was this tiny at 1 and was formula feed. Hes now 5 and right at 35 lbs, not sure how tall he is though.

He definitely looks healthy to me- what do they want you to feed him? Ice cream?! Breastmilk is the best thing he could be getting right now. You can always try adding in more healthy fat to your diet, and supplementing his diet with coconut milk smoothies, egg yolk, butter, etc.

But he looks healthy to me. My chunker wasn't even walking at 12 months!

Tell them to use the WHO charts. The charts in the doctors office are for formula fed babies, not breastfed babies. He's fine mama!! He looks totally healthy and if your other child was similar at that age, then they should take that into consideration. So frustrating.

That is exactly what my DS was at 1 and he was FF. So I think he was just petite. My newest DD is following in his footsteps and is petite too, although she is bf and it makes me paranoid that she's not getting enough, but I think that is just their growth rate no matter how they are fed.
