delete, resolved!

So i posted on another board that i was ISO a camera strap cover and a mama said she makes them. so she created me a custom link on her etsy site, and said biz was slow so gave me a discount (2/$18ppd) which is a good deal, but definitely nothing amazing. i could get that deal if i sweet talked another etsy mama probably. Plus, her etsy shop was new, but she said shes a photographer, and does this on the side.

so i paid her, she made them, and sent them.

i opened the package, and they smelled like smoke and perfume. like they were smelly, but were washed to get rid of the smell. we have sensitive noses, but definitely can smell cigarette smoke.

They're different lengths^^

you can tell better here^^ plus how wonky the end of the pink one is

the stitching is terrible!!

the other end has bad stitching too!

TBTH, the first thing hubby said is "wow, i could have made those!!" because the sewing was so bad.

what should i do?

Re: Help...bad custom etsy product

I would email her and let her know that you are disappointed, she might be willing to work something out with you

Wow. Those are bad

I would convo her, tell her exactly what you are unhappy with and exactly what you want for the resolution

Ditto this! That pink one is incredibly wonky!

Re: Help...bad custom etsy product

i contacted her. she said she doesn't remember the pink one turning out that way. she said she'd make me a new one..

but honestly...is it a big deal to just ask for a refund? she shipped it to me in a bag with 3 stamps on it. So should i just ask for a refund and pay the $1.50 in stamps myself?

Re: Help...bad custom etsy product

I would tell her that you aren't happy with the product and wish to return them. let her know you will pay return shipping(if you don't mind the 3 stamps). I would not be satisfied with those, the smell would bother me, but the quality would definitely have me asking for a refund.

Sorry you are dealing with this. There are lots of great etsy sellers that do camera straps that are just gorgeous. Hope it works out for you.
