Ideas for Expired milk

I donated a ton of milk to a milk bank and was on the waiting list to send more but I guess their list of donors is too long and they couldn't send me the cooler for a while. SOO, I placed an ad on milkshare and no one responded. Now I have some expired milk in my freezer and would love some ideas of what to do with it. TIA

Have you tried Human Milk 4 Human Babies? What is your definition of "expired"? Someone may still be interested in it.

If its not super expired, maybe someone could get it into a deep freeze before it gets gross? How old is it?

I just thawed a bag that I had that was 4 months old and it was fine. Someone on Human milk for human babies might still want it.

Expired all depends on how it has been stored. In a deep freeze at zero or below, you have a year or so right? I'm thawing milk from December at January now and it's totally fine!

Re: Ideas for Expired milk

It's been in my refrigerator freezer and is 1 year old. I pumped some milk a couple of months ago so it isn't all 1 year old. I haven't been able to find anyone that wants it and I lived in Europe during the mad cow years so I think that is why.

I was just wondering if there were alternative uses for it. Thanks.

Re: Ideas for Expired milk

smoothies? IDK if you're trying to avoid consuming it... I don't think it would be "bad" in the sense that it would cause harm. I'm thinking more along the lines that the "living cells" maybe be deteriorated after that long of time in the freezer. So, I'd say its probably not "bad" just not as "good", does that makes sense? It would still be beneficially, though, from the stand point that it still has lots and lots of great things in it. If someone was really concerned about losing some of the immunity present in frozen milk (because a small amount is always lost in the freezing/thawing process) then they could combine it with fresher milk. I hope you find someone who needs it. I know I've seen threads on here from mom's who are desperately searching for milk... GL!

I got rid of over 100oz. of "expired" milk on Human Milk for Human Babies. It went to an older child that had issues. I was super glad not to waste it.
