2 year olds taking off diapers
I have 2 girls who are taking off their dirty diapers and getting poop/pee all over their carpet and beds. Any suggestions? They keep doing it and we need to get it stopped. Thanks!

Re: 2 year olds taking off diapers
Mine has done it since he was 6 months old. ALWAYS wear pants/ shorts or some sort of pull up cover, or duct tape...

Re: 2 year olds taking off diapers
They can get any of their clothes off and always have shorts, pants or overalls, etc.
I have snap diapers and they get them off. Their room was a disaster today.

I'd get those girls on potties! They obviously recognize when they have gone so I would definitely try hard to just make sure there's nothing in those diapers to make a mess with. We ec and every time my 12 month old pulls on her diaper we go to the potty and she goes.

What about putting them on backwards?

Re: 2 year olds taking off diapers
I guess I should add that they are potty-trained during the day (not naps or bedtime). They do know to go on the potty, but sometimes it seems they go on the floor or whatever on purpose or are too busy playing to pay attention. One of them did poop before nap and they had peed before too. It doesn't matter she still pooped again (both of them) and both peed on the floor/bed. They wake up soaked or dirty after nap or in the morning. I can have them go potty before they take nap or go to bed, but it really doesn't make a difference. At least my boy is potty-trained even during nap. Sheesh, thought girls were supposed to be easier than boys!
Putting the diaper on backwards?

Re: 2 year olds taking off diapers
Yup putting the dipes on backwards. A friend of mine whose son is autistic has to do this or he takes them off and makes a mess.

Re: 2 year olds taking off diapers
Yeah that's what I did with ds until he was potty trained. Also if it's during nap/bed time get some foot pjs and put them on backwards, if it makes you feel better you can cut the feet out but we just put them on backwards with feet and all.

Re: 2 year olds taking off diapers
My older son did this. The solution... put him to bed in backwards footed pj's with the feet cut off. No more messy crib! There's also a thing you can buy online - a blanket sleeper that's sleeveless and footless that zips in the back. Think I got one on amazon. GL!

Re: 2 year olds taking off diapers
We almost always have shorts or pants so he can't take them down. The one time I left him in a diaper a few months ago, he took it off, then walked over and handed it to me (probably for the attention) but it was pretty funny - only because it was dry. He did it to my mom too when she did it but he was under a year at the time.
Also, for sleeping a sleep sack - Halo makes 2T/3T (you can size up easily) in early walker/toddler. (its also good for crib escapes).
