I am shipping out something (probably in a flat rate box) and I need to know if I insure it do I still need to put dc on it? Someone once told me no but I wanted to check and see.

Also if I am shipping to an fpo/apo addy in a flat rate box (and it has to have a customs form) do I need dc on it?

i can only speak about the apo question (since I have one

) - the customs forms doesn't make a package trackable at all. so DC is needed as well (although keep in mind that DC doesn't indicate when a person ACTUALLY gets a package - only when their mailroom does). i'd definitely insure to an apo. just my two cents

sorry i can't help on the dc/insurance question though.

YES, you definitely do. Per DS rules we require DC on ALL packages. Also if the package was lost, ECT Paypal will not protect you with just the insurance they require DC# to be protected.

I know they say dc on all packages but that doesn't work to canada and other foreign places so I wasn't sure on the rules with apo addresses & someone had told me that if you have insurance then it is tracked through that and you don't need a dc so I thought I would ask.

Even the PO will tell you that you don't need both but unless its not available (international ect) Then you have to get it. From personal experience I know that if some thing goes wrong Paypal will not side with you with out DC# even if you have insurance there is NO online proof of delivery.

. I didn't want to over do things if it wasn't needed but I will just put dc on everything I can no matter what else is on it.
