Replacing fillings in cracked teeth?
I have 4 teeth that have amalgam fillings in them that are cracked, and need refilled. When I was pregnant with DS2 my dentist said we'd keep an eye on them, and take care of them once I was done BFing. Well, DS2 is now 3.5 mo, and 3 of the 4 teeth are on the verge of breaking completely off. I had planned on BFing until he self weaned so am looking at another 2-3 years. (My older two both weaned at 15 mo when I was pregnant with the next) I don't think my teeth will make it that long though, but really do not want to chance the mercury exposure to DS to get the work done now. As of now DS has never taken a bottle, but I could keep working on it, but my understanding is it would take much longer than even a few days of pump and dump after having the fillings replaced. Just wondering if anyone has and ideas or suggestions for me? Thanks!
