Re: Help sell our house (picture heavy!!) Updated OP with Questions 10/7!!

I think the wire flower thing could work fine in the kitchen. It seems like it would be a better scale for that wall.

about the inside of cabinets and closets. I would definitely de-clutter/scale back on the quantity of items in there. you are soo right, having too much stuff on shelves or in closets makes it seem like there is not enough storage. If you can, definitely pack away most of the dishes and even thin out the closets. I think people would at least look into a couple cabinets to see what the inside looks like (ie 60's contact paper on the shelves [like a house we saw lovely]). and I would definitely look into closets to see how big they are, so it's a good idea to pack up what you can from there as well.
hope all goes well!

Re: Help sell our house (picture heavy!!) Updated OP with Questions 10/7!!

clean all the windows. It's amazing how they go unoticed by us,but others will see it. Like Naomi, I watch WAYYYY too much HGTV, and when we sold our first house it looked like no one lived there, b/c I cleaned/decluttered something major. We had 2 storage units since our house was uber tiny.

I like all the points made so far. I think that the blue in the kitchen might be a hard sell for some folks. But it looks nice and clean. I think you have a great house with great spaces, and once you pre pack and declutter- you should have no problems selling!!!

Oh- Ita that you should ditch the playroom and stage the 3rd as a bdrm ! You need to post after pics too.

Re: Help sell our house (picture heavy!!) Updated OP with Questions 10/7!!

I've been thinking about the kitchen...I think, if you can, you should paint the cabinets, trim, etc back to white...and maybe paint the walls a warm, soft color I know, kind of labor-intensive, but I think it would help sell the house faster. I know it is just paint, and the next owners could do it, but I am always surprised at how some people never change the paint color from the previous owners, or think it is just too much work to do themselves and then don't consider the house...all over a gallon of paint!

ok, the HGTV nerd in me is jumping up and down....this is soo much fun!!! I can't wait to hear how it all goes!

LOL, the HGTV nerd in you!!

I think we are going to leave the kitchen for now and if buyer feedback reflects that they hate the color then paint it. I don't know how well it shows in the pictures, but it is a serious pain to paint, the walls are not flat. They are a thick wood paneling. And with all the other projects there is no way we could have that done in time for Monday. Anyways for fun I'm uploading pictures of what the kitchen looked like when we purchased the house and also one of the front of the house. Considering making a photo book for buyers to see the progression...
