Will this be ok?

Our babysitter found a brand new/never used/still in package evenfo discovery at a garage sale. They said they bought it for their gandchild and never used it. It still has all the tags on it and doesn't expire until 2016. Will this be ok to use? I am the one always telling people to not buy used because it isn't safe. Also, I only use the carrier ones for about 3 months for appointments and stuff then switch to a convertible. I think I just need reassurance that it's safe. Thanks

If it came with tags still on the seat its likely never been used. I'd probably still pass.

BNIB with tags attached I would be okay with. I ordered a Radian from strollers.com that was what they called an open box return. When it arrived the seat was still wrapped in plastic with the tags attached to the harness. I don't see this as being any different. If it's obvious that it has never been used it should be okay.

I agree. If it's completely obvious that it's never been used, and it's not expired, I'd buy one in this instance.

She brought it over and it's still tagged and everything. I just was trying to reassure myself. Thanks ladies

Re: Will this be ok?

Just check to be sure it's not recalled; millions of those were recalled.

Re: Will this be ok?

Baring the recall advice given above, I'd be totally fine using it. Sounds like it was obviously new.

Super, sounds like you are good to go then, just keep in mind that the handle must be down in the car, and there must be 1.5" of clearance between the front vehicle seat and the car seat.
