Lactation LONG after weaning?
Over 8 months after weaning YDS, I am still lactating
. Is this a typical occurrence? I'm not leaking or producing a significant amount, but I occasionally notice a lump or two in one of my breasts. Interestingly, they seem to be clogged ducts, as when I massage or press that are, milk is expressed. It appears colostrum like. Anyone shared this experience long after weaning?

Re: Lactation LONG after weaning?
I just had this happen, but it hasn't been that long since he weaned. Only a month. I had a sore marble sized lump, and it was a plugged duct. I am hoping I dry up soon!

I remember being able to squirt milk out in the shower months after weaning my twins, but no lumps. It was milky looking but more yellow and thicker. Kinda gross now that I think about it. I don't think I went as long as 8 months out though.

Re: Lactation LONG after weaning?
**Warning, potential TMI for some, lol.**
My hubby can still express small amounts when we are fooling around, without really trying. Weaned my son over a year ago now. I don't remember where I read about that happening to another mom, probably here on DS. She was able to express small amounts years afterwards... |

Re: Lactation LONG after weaning?
You may consider having your thyroid and hormone level checked. A friend of mine had this continue for over 2 years post-weaning and it was a thyroid thing.
