Traveling with a Radian - tips?

My son is RF (40lb, 40in, almost 3) in a radian xtsl. I'm going to FF him on the plane and will most likely have to FF him in the rental car when we get there.

I bought one of those little luggage carty things for the airport (I'm preggo and can't imagine carrying the toddler or the seat for that)

Any one have any tips or tricks for installing on the plane?

Any have any tips for a FF install? I know I need to remove the RF boot and adjust the straps so they are above the shoulder not below.

My tip is go buy a spare seat and not travel with the Radian. They don't fit well in many cars, so you always run the risk of a difficult or incompatible install in whatever car you have at the airport. They are also INSANELY heavy. In your shoes, I'd travel with a Maestro.
