Thumbs up Full moon baby hopefuls...

Enjoy your last baby-free night! Sleep WELL-it's going to be awhile before you (or we--oh I can only hope) get to again.

I had someone from another mommy group make this for me, I've had it up since September's full moon, ha! We'll see.....

Haha, I have a feeling that the full moon on November 10th is more likely to be the one that pushes me over the edge.

Do you guys think its really true that more babies are born on a full moon? Or just an old wives tale? Like all those natural induction methods that don't work??? Here's hoping for some magic! I am so ready! Been having contractions since thursday, they are starting to get pretty painful at times, dilated to a 4, 80% effaced, bloody show...I'm hoping something will happen tonight! Good luck every mommy!

Yes, definitely true! Full moons to L&D and post partum nurses mean we're definitely going to work! lol.

And please don't let me be one of the full moon deliveries.... my OB and best friend are out of town until Sunday..... fingers crossed little man can hang out until then. Going to the state fair on Sunday to try to walk the baby out and have some greasy food He can be a corn dog baby lol

Re: Full moon baby hopefuls...

I believe it! I did a lot of research before my youngest was born because her due date was one day after the full moon. I didn't really believe it but, my water did end up breaking completely out of the blue the night of a full moon. I had no signs of impending labor, shortly after my water broke I started contracting. I got to the hospital and was 1CM dilated, like I said no progress had been made before my water broke. She was born a few hours later.

Contrary to what a previous poster stated, based on all my research at that time and since (and a long conversation with the weatherman), the full moon affects bag of waters, doesn't cause contractions. A drastic change in the barometric pressure can also do something similar.

ETA: That's one of the reasons I'm so interested this time around. Though like I said we were one day away from her due date, not 17 like we are now. One interesting tid-bit I learned was that the amniotic sac kind of thins out the closer to D-Day you get.
