Birth Control Free Mommies

Out of curosity what is so terrible about hormonal birth control? I have reasons for thinking its good, just wondering what the bad is.

My reasons for it being good is its considered a chemotherapy preventive for ovarian cancer. I get to keep my remaining ovary as long as my counts are good and I'm taking birth control when not actively trying to get pregnant or being pregnant. It's just like the breast cancer chemotherapy preventive tamoxifin. So for me its a good thing, I'd almost rather die then go thru chemotherapy again.

Hormones give me migraines and aggravate my pcos. I might ask my doctor about a diaphragm.

I also get hormone migraines that are worse when on hormonal BC. Also, when I have been on hormonal BC (the pill, specifically) for any length if time, my sex drive absolutely tanks. Like, I would rather have a root canal than DYD. Though, I will say that I had a Mirena between Micah and TTC'ing Ellie and since it was such a low low dose and was localized it didn't bother me much at all.
