I keep trying to convince my half sister to not worry about a relationship and go ahead for motherhood before its too late. She's 36 and has been divorced and wants a family. Being that DH and I conceived with donor sperm I keep telling her that she has other options but she wants the nuclear family. To each their own. Follow what works for you and makes you and your kids happy!

I'm a single mom. It didn't start out as a choice, but when my ex and I split (due to infidelity and abuse), I took the opportunity to run & take my child, who was 2. Ex had no legal rights and no say in the matter.

Now, 2 years later, I've learned a lot and realize that being a single mom is the best option for my LO and I.

I purposely avoid relationships, because I don't want anyone to dictate how we live our lives.

It works for us.
