I've definately dropped

I noticed it the other day and a lady at work told me that she noticed I had dropped since yesterday. I thought I remembered from one of my classes that with second babies you don't drop too much before you deliver...does anyone know if this is true? I am 36 1/2 weeks and I would be completely ok to have him early, I just want him to be done "cooking."

My dad also asked me yesterday if I'm bigger with this pregnancy. It made me sad, but it is the one time in life when you are supossed to be fat!

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Hmm......I feel like with my second, I dropped sooner....or maybe my ab muscles were just stretched out from having my first two being so close in age (20 mo. apart, so basically I was pregnant with Owen at Garrett's 1st birthday party). I could have just been carrying him lower, but either way when I was where I'm at now (34 weeks), if I spread my legs while sitting, my belly would rest on the chair.

With subsequent pregnancies, it is possible for your baby not to engage/ drop until just b4 labor, but not necessarily.

My first didn't drop until right before I pushed. I suspect this one dropped in the last couple of days but I could be completely off since I don't really know what it feels like (I had an epi for the last two hours of my first labor).

I thought it was the other way around.. 1st pregnancy you drop right before labor. 2nd or more you drop earlier. But what do I know? lol

It typically is the other way around. You can drop pretty early in subsequent pregnancies and still have several weeks to a month left

I don't think you do really, I have read in more than one pg book and magazine that you don't drop until right before labor with subsequent pg, it's just that the books are wrong, lol. Lots of us drop wks before labor, it's just one of those things that different people and pg's are each different.

It's also possible to feel/look like you've dropped, then drop more closer to when baby actually comes. I know I dropped a week ago ( and I look a little like baby is going to fall out one of these days ) but baby has definitely not come yet. Although I must admit, the lower baby goes, the more I wouldn't mind being done with this whole pregnancy thing...

With my third I dropped at 30 weeks, maybe the last week she engaged but she didn't drop any further, I didn't deliver until 39 - 39.5 weeks.
