when to start?

When is ideal to start blw?

also, when you start did you go to 3 meals a day or just one.

Is it healthy for the baby to go past 6 months without food? Just nursing?

sent from my Droid Bionic, please excuse all typos

Re: when to start?

The ideal time to start is 6 months +, able to sit up competently, able to take food of your plate and stuff it in their mouths with a cheeky grin and a bit of a giggle.

It is not at all unhealthy for a baby to go past 6 months just nursing. In fact most of the nutrients and calories will continue to come from milk for some time to come (here in the UK they state until 1 year milk is the main food source the rest is just play).
We started around 6 months with DS just eating with us. He picked and played for a few weeks before i noticed significant amounts going in (and through). It was three meals a day from the off, but snacks only came in when he was definitely eating and slowing down his milk intake.
Gill Rapleys book is definitely worth reading.
