Can I keep sliced apples 'fresh' overnight? (for class in AM)

We have a little Halloween shindig tomorrow morning at the pre-school type program here. I really would like to do a treat that involves apples, since I have about 1800 that just blew off my tree last night! BUT, I have a hard enough time waking up in the morning to get to the class at a decent time, let alone waking up to make the snack, get us ready and get there!!! (Soooo not a morning person and then add to that, that I am 33 weeks pregnant!!!)

Soooo...will lemon juice keep them white over night? I know i've done lemon juice before and it's worked but it wasn't for that length of time. I'll cry like a baby if I prepare the snack and it goes brown!

Oh noooo! It'd be at least 12 hours if I did them late tonight. Ah, I don't want to get up early. LOL!

be careful - preschool + lemon juice = an uneaten snack!

Yeah, I'm opting for some rice krispy treats! There will be tons of fruit, so whatever!!! I'll just do small things! I'd rather something that gets eaten instead of goes brown and ends up in the trash! Making caramel apples for my friends/fam instead!

I use Ball Fruit Fresh. Soak apples in water with a 1/2 tsp. or so of fruit fresh. It's just ascorbic acid. It doesn't take on the strong taste of lemon juice does.

I shake them in a baggie with a tiny bit of apple cider vinegar. They don't brown and the kid's have never noticed a funky taste or anything.
