frequent contractions that don't hurt

It started last night and has been going on all morning. I'm having mild contractions but they are fairly frequent. I haven't timed them, they seem to be irregular but sometimes are coming a few minutes apart, then there might be a longer break and then some more. At my appointment on Monday I was barely dialted. My due date is Friday. I don't want to go in yet because the hospital is an hour from where I live. What do you think is going on? We'd hoped the baby would hang in there another week as we are still getting the bedroom done and are sleeping on a matress in the living room (because of the floor stain fumes)

All of my labors have started that way. sounds like early labor to me.

sounds like early labour, i had a full day and night of that, then another 24 hours of some what painful contractions and then another 18 hours of hard labour. not sure if you should head in to the hospital tho, but def. start timing them.

that sounds like how i labor. nothing gets regular for me until my water breaks then a heck breaks loose and some one better be ready to catch.
