When using Milkies milk savers

What do you do with your milk? Put it in a breastmilk bag and stick it in the freezer? Put it in a bottle in the fridge? What do you do personally? Trying to decide if I want to buy storage bags or bottles.

Re: When using Milkies milk savers

I use mine in conjunction with pumping (which I do to supplement for a friend's baby) so I just pour it into the bottle I just pumped which I transfer into storage bags at the end of each day.

I THINK you're asking which are better, bags or bottles and I'd vote for bags. They store better in my opinion and are cheaper .

My milk storage bags always leaked (they developed holes in the freezer when things would avalanche), and I never made much milk, so I always prefered milk storage bottles or snappies to store breastmilk in to freeze.

Re: When using Milkies milk savers

When I used mine, it was also in conjunction with pumping, but I never leaked a whole lot to make cleaning another thing worth it IMO. What I do now when I'm pumping and don't get too much is I put it in a bottle in the fridge and "save up" and when I've eventually stored enough for a whole bottle, I transfer it to the freezer bag and freeze it. I go through a lot of bags because I work though, so I wasn't looking to use more bags than I absolutely had to.

My personal preference is bags. They are cheaper and defrost faster.

Since most of mine is usually foremilk, I don't want to make a bottle/bag out of it. I freeze in ice cube trays and use to add to a bag that needs an extra half ounce or ounce.

This is what the NICU called the little 2oz bottles they supplied me with for pumping.
