thats funny that they would run away during labor

YES! My dog (with both pg's) would NOT leave me alone! If I was on the floor, he would try & climb in my lap (50 lb lab-beagle mix) - not usual behavior for him. He would lay at my feet and follow me around. DH said the dog was "protecting" me.

Re: animals and being pregnant...

When I was pregnant my sister and bil's german shephard would literally try to herd me around their house. She would nip (not hard...more like a rough lick ) at my heels and push me around! They got her when I was at the end of my 1st trimester and she started it right away....she didn't do it to anyone else and she stopped after I gave birth. Weird dog!

Re: animals and being pregnant...

My cat & I haven't been the same since I was pregnant w/ #3. We got her the year before and she had a litter of kittens (but 3 of the 5 died) and we just never really got along after that. I couldn't stand finding cat hair ANYWHERE, especially not on the baby stuff. I washed my bassinet sheets and entire top portion linens like 50x before my baby was even born. I totally think she felt some weird mojo from me and maybe resentment since she lost her babies. Anyway, I haven't really liked animals much since then but I'm getting better. I like my friends' animals but so far that's it.
