Anyone told boy at their u/s and had a girl instead?

This is my first pregnancy finding out the gender at the u/s (which was a day shy of 20 weeks). It looked like a clear boy shot to me (twice, lol, I asked the tech to go back since I didn't really see it the first time, laying down and all).

But I'm just wondering if anyone else had clear boy shots that turned out to be girls. I know it's rare and I'm bonding with my boy, but just wondering if there is a tiny chance of a big surprise at delivery day.

Nope If it's hang'n out to see it's boy LOL. I have heard of people who thought they were going to have a girl find out it was a boy. But, now that sonograms are so high-tech, either the baby is in a bad position so they can't tell the sex, or they know what gender the baby is. Congratulations on a baby boy!!

Re: Anyone told boy at their u/s and had a girl instead?

I worried the last 19 weeks of my pregnancy that DS would be a girl and we'd be unprepared. The only shot we have of this "boy" parts to me looks like the umbilical cord! I was pretty sure I saw his testicles on the ultrasound, and that's the only dimmer of faith I had in that he was a boy, because that photo sure didn't prove it!!!

I haven't even had my ultrasound this time, and I'm already worrying they'll tell me the wrong gender! I'd rather just not find out, isntead of worrying its wrong. But DH insists he must know.

I think being told boy and ending up with a girl is actually a lot less common than being told girl and ending up with a boy. I know a couple people and have heard of a handful of other friends of friends who were told girl and got boy but I've never heard of one the other way around. I could also be totlaly wrong.

This happened to one of my friends. It turned out they were seeing the umbilical cord instead of boy parts.

SIL did. She was told 85% sure it was a boy and it turned out to be a girl at the new u/s. But I'm pretty sure the first u/s was at like 17 weeks and the next at 19.

My little sister was supposedly a boy but that was 23 years ago and ultrasounds were not nearly as good back then.

no they have been right with all my boys. I would imagine they could tell the cord bc it one of the things they look at to see if it healthy and getting baby what it needs.

The woman who made the linens for my first nursery had a no-money-back policy that she had to institute after multiple people had mistaken u/s readings. But mine were all clear as day and correct on delivery .
