Baby already measuring big at 20wks?!

I know I have big babies anyway (9.13 and 9.8), so I'm trying to make a guess-timation here. Just had my 20wk ultrasound yesterday and this little guy is already measuring over 1lb and his chest and abdomen are measuring in the 88th percentile for his age/gestation. Anyone remember their little ones 20wk measurements in correlation to their birth weight? I'm just wondering if this babe is going to be bigger/smaller than his brothers.

They told me that at my 20 week ultrasound with Claire, but she was born on the smaller side...I would take it with a grain of salt, myself. THey said she was over a pound, which I knew was really big. I was under the impression that there is not a whole lot of variation in babies' size at that gestation; I always thought that they put on weight more at the end?

I think there is an average at each gestation, but I agree, kind-of figured it's really too early to tell. We are on a downward trend so fingers crossed for a 9.3lber!!

Measurments at 20 weeks are pretty accurate. Mine was measuring right on at 20 weeks at about 1 pound. Like 50th percentile. Now she is measuring in the 95th at 35 weeks.

I wouldnt worry much..it could average out or you have a big baby...9 pounds isnt too big these days. I am guessing mine will be 9.5 to 10 pounds if i go to term which is unlikely with my bp issues.

DS was measuring about a week a head at my 20 wk U/S. I'm not to worried about it as both the other kids were a head as well and they weren't that big. DS was 7 15 and DD was 6 11

Ds was a little over a lb at 19wks. He was born an average 7lbs 14oz . This baby was 14oz at 18wks.

Re: Baby already measuring big at 20wks?!

I don't know about my 1st because size wasn't really a concern for us then. My 2nd was "estimated" to be 1 lb 15 oz at my anatomy scan which I think was at 21 weeks if I remember correctly. I don't know what percentage they put her in but she was 9 lbs 6 oz at 41 +3 days. My 3rd was estimated to be 1 lbs 8 oz at 20 weeks exactly and she was 8 lbs 7 oz at 39 +3 days.
