Re: Circumcision has profoundly affected every member of my family...

Come on ladies....let's move off the miscarriage comparison etc. We all know that's not what this thread is intended to be about.... Let's keep it on topic completely so as not to encourage any more off-topic discussion.

Let's move on please! Or start your own thread if you feel the need to continue the comparison debate. Thanks.

OP, it really sucks that your first son's circumcision was so traumatic for you. It really does. You did the best that you knew at the time and must work to forgive yourself for the decision that seemed right at that moment. We can't all have all the facts all the time. Mourn what happened. Share your story with others if you think that they can learn from your experience. Ignore people who get their panties in a twist over it, because now you know the right choice for you as a parent. Most people who get defensive of it feel just a little bit attacked for their choices as a parent. Be kind to them. They are doing the best that they know and believe for their own children. No one wants to be a bad parent. Ever.

But most importantly, heal and move on. Don't let this be something that keeps you up at night a year from now. Don't turn this into a funnel for all of your questionable parenting choices. It is so easy to focus all of our poor choices into one and beat ourselves up for it. We are much more than the sum of our choices.

Yes we have gone to every specialist you can think of including a genetic metabologist-it's something that happens when their bodies break something down weird but not an allergy. Been on every elimination diet imaginable (ds1 has). It burns the outside of the skin-it burned in the opening a bit too but not much along the inside of the urethra according to the scope a year ago. I always changed his diapers quickly but it doesn't matter. Their skin is crazy sensitive and only a few minutes causes blisters. I'm not crazy-I've taken my son to MANY specialists and no one had seen it ever before or smelled diapers like his w/o the lab work to back it up. Thousands and thousands of dollars of medical bills later and still no answers. They had to write a lot off due to our current situation but that's another story.

His urologist was the one that said the foreskin pinched his urethra. No problems urinating since

Sent from my iPod touch using DS Forum-sometimes my iPod thinks it's a better speller than me...

I'm so glad to see it was reopened and you are able to continue to share your story and knowledge with others. Like I said before, these threads is what helped me become more informative in the matter and NOT have my son circ'd. So thank you for that!
Thank you for your support.
