Hates the Hiccups...

I know the hiccups are harmless for my 6 week old, but she HATES them. She only lasts a few before she starts to bawl. Any suggestions for comforting, preventing hiccups or stopping them once they start?

I have tried a few times giving her a little formula in her bottle to help her swallow and relax the diaphragm, but with her acid reflux, I don't like to give her more formul than she can handle.

I was always able to stop the hiccups by wearing my baby in a wrap carrier. Something about it just seemed to make them go away. HTH.

I don't know how to stop them but I think having hiccups and laying down is really uncomfortable, I would rather be upright.

Re: Hates the Hiccups...

We found that the reflux and hiccups went together. Just patients and they go away. You may want to try other formulas & see a pediatric GI if you are not.
